I’ve had many hard lessons in the past, and just being Kerry Katona’s child is tough on my kids, they never asked for it. All I want is for my children to be proud. It’s nobody else’s decision when I don’t get back up, it’s all on me, no matter what gets thrown on me, it’s up to me to deal with it. I think my own childhood has instilled some kind of resilience in me. My kids are my get up and go, they are the reasons why I do it all. Since then she has faced even more challenges, including an abusive relationship where she felt trapped in a cycle of despair.

The former Atomic Kitten member, who suffers from mental health issues, documented her troubled childhood and subsequent life in the limelight, including her drug issues, in her 2012 best-selling autobiography, Still Standing. Kerry’s own childhood was tragic, living between a troubled home and foster care. Later, Kerry went on to have three more children – Heidi, 15, and Maxwell, 14, with her former husband Mark Croft (they divorced in 2011), and nine-year-old Dylan Jorge, also known as DJ, whose father is George Kay, who tragically died of an overdose in 2019. The couple had two daughters together: Molly, now 21, and Lily-Sue, 20, before divorcing in 2006. Kerry Katona became an honorary Irish woman following her star-studded wedding to Brian McFadden in Slane Castle in 2002.
